Jury statement
"The entry addresses the highly relevant question of how digitalised medicine and the future use of AI and new technologies in therapy and care will influence the hospital of tomorrow in a bold and unconventional way. The project creates a visionary image of a flexible building typology that can grow or shrink depending on current needs. To this end, platforms and spatial elements are suspended in a superstructure. The result is a futuristic landscape of functional areas, recreational areas and exuberant green spaces. The boundaries between healthcare and the internal park landscape are blurred. Stairs and walkways create a link to the surrounding area and the nearby beach. The hospital of the future should also be explicitly understood as a place of well-being and relaxation.
The work impressed the jury with its visionary power of a new typology of healthcare buildings in the context of digital technologies. The fact that a very large spatial programme has been sensibly implemented was praised. The visualisation in the form of expressive drawings was also rated highly."
