International Summer School HOSPITAL + THE CITY
An interdisciplinary approach to hospital planning in the urban context

The course is aimed at professionals and master’s students who wish to deepen their understanding of the intersection between health care architecture, urban planning, health care management and public health. The summer school welcomes participants from various disciplines: architecture, urban planning, public health, life sciences, sociology and economics.

The summer school includes site visits, group work and lectures delivered by experts from both academia and professional practice in the fields of architecture, urban planning, health care management and health sciences. 

The ENAH Summer School will take place
20 - 24 July 2026
in Berlin.

This year, the AKG (Architekten für Krankenhausbau und Gesundheitswesen e.V.) will provide funding for participation in the Summer School, offering eight student scholarships financed by AKG
The funding covers the participation costs, while travel and accommodation expenses are not included.

Who should apply?


 The summer school is open to international master’s students and professionals in architecture, engineering, health sciences and health care management, as well as anyone wishing to deepen their knowledge in the fields of health care building design and management, and healthy urban planning.


The summer school is limited to 25 participants.

The course language is English.


Upon successful completion, participants will be granted

3 ECTS credit points by Berlin University of Technology.


Participants can collect training points at the German Chambers of Architects 

(Architektenkammer - Fortbildungspunkte).
