Nirit Putievsky Pilosof

is a registered architect and a Ph.D. candidate at the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. Nirit holds a Post-Professional Masters of Architecture from McGill University and a B.Arch and B.SC in Architectureal studies, with first class honors, from the University of Wales. Nirit practice architecture as a design project manager at leading architecture firms in Israel and in Canada, specializing in healthcare design, as well as researching and teaching architecture academic programs. Nirit has gained international awards including the prestige's AIA Academy of Architects for Health award, the American Hospital Association (AHA) graduate fellowship, the McGill University major fellowship, and the Azrieli Foundation fellowship.

Nirit Ph.D. research explores the connection between healthcare, architecture and time, acknowledging both the challenge of planning hospital facilities to meet the rapid progress of medicine and technology, and the limitation of current tools to predict and evaluate the design. In her study, Nirit proposes to develop a method to facilitate the evaluation of hospital design strategies for change, by simulating ‘what if’ scenarios. The evaluation will enhance design optimization, collaboration and knowledgeable decision-making by architects and hospital directors during the design process and throughout the life cycle of the hospital.
