Prof. Dr. Ruzica Bozovic-Stamenovic

Dr Ružica Božović Stamenović graduated from the Faculty of Architecture University of Belgrade and got her Specialist, Master of Sciences and Doctor of Sciences degree (Awarded Best Dr. Sci. Thesis in 1996), from the same University. After practicing in major Belgrade offices she joined the University of Belgrade (1989-2001) and later The National University of Singapore NUS (2000-2011) where she continues to teach as Visiting Academic (2011-on). She is Faculty Fellow of TAMU-Center for Health Systems and Design, Texas A&M University, USA, Executive Board Member of UIA Public Health Group, GUPHA-Global University Programs in Healthcare Architecture. She served as Editorial Board Member of World Health Design (2008-2011). Her research interest is in the wide area of Human Ecology and relations of space and health: health supportive design, ageing related spatial issues, public spaces and public health. She is also interested in design processes and teaching methods and established courses on “Space and Health” in Belgrade and Singapore. She was awarded The Berkeley Prize Teaching Fellowship for curriculums regarding healthful architecture in 2014. Latest research projects focused on ageing and public housing in Belgrade and Singapore, energy efficiency and healthfulness, gentrification and health, etc. As a designer, consultant and adjudicator she contributed to design of healthcare facilities in Asia and Europe. She published two books and a number of book chapters and peer reviewed journal papers. She is frequent speaker at scientific conferences and delivered guest lectures worldwide. For her design work dr Bozović Stamenović (with D. Stamenović) won major national architectural awards: October Salon (1998), Salon of Architecture (1998, 1991, 1991), Borba (1992), and a number of national and international competition prizes. She participated in over thirty exhibitions including the Also Rossi’s Selection for the 2nd Biennale of Venice, Italy (1985) and the 8th Biennale of Venice Exhibition NEXT- Destruction & Construction (2002).
